Certificate of Conformity  est un mot anglosaxon pour désigner le  certificat de conformité européen document constructeur qui valide l’homologation d’un véhicule européen par un numéro de  réception communautaire  défini par la directive CE. Le Certificate of Conformity  autorise la commercialisation et la circulation d’une Automobile en Europe permettant de garantir son immatriculation dans tous les pays européens.

Il s’agit d’un  document  authentique attestant de la conformité d’un modèle par la marque qui à conçu le véhicule et octroi à chaque véhicule une référence de  réception par type CE. Ainsi on peut retrouver facilement sur le Certificate of Conformity   toutes les caractéristiques du véhicule tels que le numéro de châssis ( VIN), la puissance du moteur, la puissance fiscale, les poids du véhicule  . Le certificat de conformité est toujours délivré avec le véhicule neuf lors de sa sortie d’usine et uniquement pour les véhicule d’après 1996.

Le certificat de conformité permet d’immatriculer un véhicule étranger en France, sans passer par ma Drire lors d’une réception à titre isolé.

Le Certificate of Conformity   ou COC certifie de la conformité d´un véhicule aux normes européennes et est  établi en français ou dans une autre langue européenne.

 Il est donc  d’obtenir une COC en Italien et immatriculer le  véhicule en France sans difficulté.

However, not all vehicles can get it. Indeed, this administrative document only concerns vehicles whose characteristics are as follows:

• A GVW of less than 3.5 tons
• The target market is Europe, approval procedures have been done in one of the country belonging to the EU
• The year of first registration is later than 1996 for vehicles whose category is M1 (passenger car), 2004 for two-wheeled vehicles and 2010 for utility vehicles (category N1)

There is also technical information such as the number of axles, the mass of the vehicle, the nominal power… And more descriptive information such as the color of the vehicle, the type of gearbox, the fuel used, etc.
